Connector

Dynamics GP Connector

Read and write Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) data without writing code, using the same stored procedures GP's own integration tools use.

Rapidi connects to Microsoft Dynamics GP through two connections. The GP SQL connection reads data straight from the GP database, and the GP stored procedure connection inserts and updates data through the stored procedures in that database, the same method GP's own integration tools use. Both run through RapidiConnector on a machine that can reach your SQL Server.

Which GP connection does what?

GP support is split across two connections on purpose: one reads straight from the database, the other writes the way GP expects to be written to.

Installed on your sideRapidiConnector and the MS-SQL clientRapidiConnector and the MS-SQL client

The MS-SQL client may already be on the machine, for example if the Dynamics GP client is installed there. RapidiConnector opens its connection outward, towards the Rapidi servers, so nothing on your network has to accept connections in.

Which integrations use this connector?

Rapidi has a standard template for Salesforce and Dynamics GP, with transfers for customers, opportunities and items already set up. It runs on these connectors.

Frequently asked questions

Can Rapidi connect to Dynamics GP?

Yes. Dynamics GP is reached through the GP SQL connection for reading and the GP stored procedure connection for inserting and updating, and the transfers are configured rather than written as code.

Can Rapidi write into Dynamics GP, or only read?

Both. Writing goes through the stored procedures in the GP database, which is the same method Dynamics GP's own integration tools use.

Which Dynamics GP versions are supported?

The documentation lists Dynamics GP 2010, 2013 and 2015 for reading, and Dynamics GP 2009 and 2013 for writing. Earlier versions may also be supported, so ask us.

Does anything get installed inside Dynamics GP?

No. RapidiConnector and the MS-SQL client go on a machine that can reach the GP SQL Server. The Salesforce standard template needs no extra fields in GP either, because the matching IDs are kept in Rapidi.

Can it handle several GP companies?

Yes. Each GP company database gets its own connection, and the Salesforce standard template supports several GP companies and several currencies from the start.

How often does the data move?

On a schedule you set. The shortest interval comes from your plan, from one hour on Entry down to one minute on Unlimited.

What does the Dynamics GP connector cost?

Nothing on its own. Rapidi is priced per subscription plan rather than per connector, so adding Dynamics GP does not change the licence.
