Connector

Salesforce Connector

Read and write your Salesforce data without writing code. One authorization in MyRapidi, and every object your Rapidi user can see is ready to map.

Rapidi connects to Salesforce through its Salesforce.com connection, which reaches Salesforce CRM and Force.com-based applications over Salesforce's own API. It reads and writes records, including custom fields, so accounts, contacts and opportunities can move both ways. Access is granted once by authorizing the Rapidi Connected App, and you can withdraw it from Salesforce at any time.

What it connects to
Salesforce CRM and applications built on Force.com, on Starter Suite, Pro Suite, Enterprise, Unlimited and Einstein 1.
Which way the data moves
Both ways. Rapidi transfers data to Salesforce and from it.
What you need
A Salesforce user for Rapidi to act as, ideally a dedicated API-only Integration User, and one click on Authorize in MyRapidi.

What does this connector actually do?

The short version: you authorize the Rapidi Connected App in your Salesforce org, Rapidi reads the layout of your objects and fields, and from then on it reads and writes records over the Salesforce API.

The Salesforce connector at a glance.
Records it movesAny object the Rapidi user has access to. Read Design loads every available Salesforce object and its fields. The standard templates start with accounts, contacts, opportunities and items, and custom fields are added in the mapping.
DirectionBoth ways. Rapidi reads from Salesforce and writes to it. In the Business Central template, for example, the ERP sales order number is written back onto the Salesforce opportunity.
How records are matchedThe Salesforce IDs are kept in Rapidi's own configuration, through Link Storage or the Mirror Technology, so the system on the other side needs no extra ID fields.
How often it runsOn a schedule you set. The shortest interval depends on your plan, from one hour on Entry down to one minute on Unlimited.
Editions supportedSalesforce Starter Suite, Pro Suite, Enterprise, Unlimited and Einstein 1.
How it signs inOAuth through the Rapidi Connected App. Salesforce sends MyRapidi a refresh token, which is stored only in encrypted form.
How it is securedData is protected by SSL encryption in transit and by the profile of the user Rapidi logs in as. Rapidi is AppExchange-certified and has been through the AppExchange security review.
What you set up onceCreate the Rapidi user in Salesforce, press Authorize on the connection in MyRapidi, then run Read Design so the objects and fields are available to map.

What does connecting Salesforce involve?

Three steps, all done once. Nothing needs to be coded, and the access can be withdrawn from inside Salesforce whenever you choose.

Connecting Salesforce to Rapidi, step by step.
StepWhere it happensWhat you do
1. Create the Rapidi userSalesforce SetupCreate an Integration User with the Salesforce Integration licence and the Salesforce API Only System Integrations profile, then give it a permission set covering the standard and custom objects it needs. That licence comes by default with Enterprise, Unlimited, Performance and Developer Editions.
2. Authorize the connectionMyRapidi, then SalesforceOpen the Salesforce.com connection in MyRapidi, press Authorize, log in as the Rapidi user and allow access.
3. Read the designMyRapidiPress Read Design. Rapidi reads every available object and field, which takes a few minutes. Run it again whenever you add fields you want to transfer.

To withdraw access later, go to Setup in Salesforce, then Connected Apps OAuth Usage, and revoke the Rapidi app.

Frequently asked questions

Can Rapidi connect to Salesforce?

Yes. Salesforce is reached through the Salesforce.com connection, which covers Salesforce CRM and Force.com-based applications, and the transfers are configured from a template rather than written as code.

Which Salesforce editions does the connector support?

Salesforce Starter Suite, Pro Suite, Enterprise, Unlimited and Einstein 1.

Can Rapidi write back into Salesforce, or only read?

Both. Rapidi transfers data to Salesforce and from it, so a value created in your ERP, such as a sales order number, can be written back onto the Salesforce record.

Does the connector work with custom objects and fields?

Yes. Read Design loads every object and field the Rapidi user can access. Give that user a permission set that covers the custom objects you need, and run Read Design again whenever you add fields.

Which Salesforce user should Rapidi log in as?

A dedicated Integration User is the documented route: the Salesforce Integration licence with the Salesforce API Only System Integrations profile, which limits it to the API. That licence comes by default with Enterprise, Unlimited, Performance and Developer Editions.

How does Rapidi get access, and can we take it back?

You authorize the Rapidi Connected App from MyRapidi, and Salesforce sends a refresh token that is stored only in encrypted form. You can withdraw the access at any time from Setup in Salesforce, under Connected Apps OAuth Usage.

What does the Salesforce connector cost?

Nothing on its own. Rapidi is priced per subscription plan rather than per connector, so adding Salesforce does not change the licence.
