Connector
Dynamics 365 Sales Connector
Read and write your Dynamics 365 Sales data without writing code. Microsoft's cloud, partner-hosted and on-premise installations are all covered, including the older Dynamics CRM versions.
Rapidi connects to Dynamics 365 Sales through its Dynamics CRM connection. It reads and writes records, so accounts, contacts, products and orders can move both ways. Microsoft's cloud, partner-hosted and on-premise installations are all supported, and the same connection still covers the older Dynamics CRM 4.0, 2011, 2013 and 2015.
- What it connects to
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales, and the earlier Dynamics CRM 4.0, 2011, 2013 and 2015.
- Which way the data moves
- Both ways. Rapidi can read records and can add and update them.
- What you need
- An Azure admin to register an app for Rapidi, and a Power Platform admin to add it as an application user.
What does this connector actually do?
The short version: Rapidi signs in to your Dynamics 365 Sales environment as an app you register, and reads and writes its records over the Dynamics web API. Nothing is installed inside Dynamics 365 Sales itself.
| Records it moves | Accounts, contacts, opportunities, products, price levels, sales orders and invoices are the usual set. Custom fields can be added to any transfer. |
|---|---|
| Direction | Both ways. The standard Business Central template reads accounts and contacts out of Dynamics 365 Sales, and adds or updates accounts, contacts, products, orders and invoices in it. |
| How records are matched | Rapidi keeps the link between the two records in its own Link Storage, so no extra fields are needed in Dynamics 365 Sales. |
| How often it runs | On a schedule you set. The shortest interval depends on your plan, from one hour on Entry down to one minute on Unlimited. |
| Versions supported | Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales, and the older Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, 2011, 2013 and 2015. |
| Where it can run | In Microsoft's cloud, at a hosting partner that supports IFD authentication, and installed on your own server. |
| How it signs in | Dynamics 365 Sales online uses OAuth2 through Azure Active Directory, with an app ID, a client secret and your tenant ID. Older installations use a user name and password. |
| What you set up once | Register an app in Azure, add it as an application user with a security role in the Power Platform admin center, and paste your environment URL into a new MyRapidi connection. |
Which integrations use this connector?
Every Rapidi integration with Dynamics 365 Sales or Dynamics CRM on one side runs through this connection. An older template also joins Dynamics CRM to Dynamics NAV, so ask us if that is your pair.

How does Rapidi reach your Dynamics 365 Sales?
Dynamics 365 Sales and Dynamics CRM run in three different places, and the connector handles all three. What changes is whether anything is installed on your side.
| What you are comparing | In Microsoft's cloud | At a hosting partner | On your own server |
|---|---|---|---|
| How Rapidi reaches it | Straight to Microsoft's servers | Straight to the hosting partner, using IFD | Through RapidiConnector |
| Installed on your side | Nothing | Nothing | RapidiConnector, a small piece of software on a machine that can see the CRM |
| Network | Nothing to open | Nothing to open | One port opened outbound, towards Rapidi's servers |
| How it signs in | OAuth2 through Azure Active Directory | User name and password | User name, password and domain on your local network |
| Direction of the data | Both ways | Both ways | Both ways |
A new connection arrives with a RapidiConnector already attached. For the cloud and for a partner that supports IFD, that connector is removed from the connection in one click. If your hosting partner does not support IFD but will install RapidiConnector in their own network, the on-premise setup works there too.

Frequently asked questions
Can Rapidi connect to Dynamics 365 Sales?
Yes. Dynamics 365 Sales is reached through the Dynamics CRM connection, and the transfers are configured from a template rather than written as code.
Does it still work with older Dynamics CRM versions?
Yes. Dynamics CRM 4.0, 2011, 2013 and 2015 are supported alongside Dynamics 365 Sales, whether they run on your own server, at a hosting partner or in Microsoft's cloud.
Can Rapidi write into Dynamics 365 Sales, or only read?
Both. The standard Business Central template reads accounts and contacts out of Dynamics 365 Sales, and adds or updates accounts, contacts, products, orders and invoices in it.
Do we need to add fields to Dynamics 365 Sales?
No. Rapidi keeps the link between the matching records in its own Link Storage, so no extra fields are needed in Dynamics 365 Sales.
Does anything get installed on our side?
Only if Dynamics CRM runs on your own server. Then a small piece of software called RapidiConnector goes on a machine that can see it. Online and partner-hosted installations are reached directly, with nothing installed.
How do we sign the connection in?
For Dynamics 365 Sales online, with OAuth2 through Azure Active Directory, using an app ID, a client secret and your tenant ID. Older installations sign in with a user name and password.
How often does the data move?
On a schedule you set. The shortest interval comes from your plan, from one hour on Entry down to one minute on Unlimited, and different record types can run at different frequencies.
What does the Dynamics 365 Sales connector cost?
Nothing on its own. Rapidi is priced per subscription plan rather than per connector, so adding Dynamics 365 Sales does not change the licence.
Is your Dynamics 365 Sales on the list?
Tell us the version and where it runs, and we will tell you plainly whether this connector covers it and what the setup involves.
